IS
for Collaboration in Response to Complex Problem Scenarios
and Extreme Events
Track
Description
This conference track seeks to attract papers from, and develop links
between, IS researchers who are working on collaborative systems research
in complex problem spaces. IS has traditionally developed a BoK in this
area by focussing on IS to facilitate wicked problem solutions within
organisations (as published extensively in the AMCIS mini-track on Philosophical
Foundations of IS). The BoK is lacking effective solutions to complex
scenarios, however, that involve one or more organisations or networks
of groups and individuals.
Relevant
Topics
This track welcomes theoretical and empirical papers as well as those
that seek to explore ideas about IS and complex problem solving (particularly
in the context of responding to extreme events) by expressing a position.
There is also scope to incorporate a panel to explore emergent ideas
and use of IS for collaboration in complex problem scenarios which will
allow accommodation of relevant and timely discussion closer to the
conference.
Confirmed
